"We are entering the Dark Ages, my friend, but this time there will be lots of neon, and screen savers, and street lighting."

Edward St. Aubyn, Lost for Words

Steve McKennon is a former surf punk that grew up, got married, bought a house, and became a Costco member.  He can be described as a morally grounded and rather optimistic nihilist, drawing on varied experiences to bring a unique voice to his work.  He is the author of several short stories and is currently working on a novel set in the New York punk scene.  As a published poet, he has been featured in many exhibitions, often writing and performing under the nom de guerre TropicalSnowstorm.

After earning a Masters Degree in International Commerce and Policy, he went on to work and travel overseas in over 21 countries.  These experiences have resulted in he and his wife adopting a form of Greek nationalism specific to their Afro-Celtic heritage, which in modern American fashion they come to by way of Scotland, Virginia, and the Caribbean.  In line with this, they go on regular pilgrimages to the Aegean Islands, drink large amounts of red wine, and routinely make unsolicited comments such as "young countries like France or Germany may one day disappear, but there has always been a Greece!"  In addition to extensive  international experiences, his interest in science, linguistics, history, anthropology, and religion add texture to his writing.
